Community ServicesCommunity Services comes under the Corporate Services Departments umbrella. OBJECTIVE: To provide quality, effective and efficient administration services, policies and public relations to the elected members, ratepayers and residents of the Wakool Shire and ensure that the community is informed and involved in the decision making process. Ensure that the needs of Councillors, staff and local community are addressed. PERFORMANCE TARGETS: Provide agendas and business paper reports that are accurate and comprehensive to all appropriate person well before meeting dates. Ensure Council delegates and representation at appropriate community committee meetings and meetings that relate to issues that effect the Wakool Shire. Achieve a high level of customer service and ensure the Wakool Shire community is well informed of what is happening in Council and that community concerns, complaints and expectations are addressed. Provide strategic information, professional advice and support which allows responsible decisions to be made and ensure that legislative and statutory requirements are met. General Details The Corporate Services Department, due to recent organisational restructure is a combination of former Administration & Finance Departments, is headed by Mr Peter Arthur and consists of seven (7) clerical support staff, ten (10) Finance Staff including full time and part time, in both the Moulamein and Barham Offices. The key responsibilities of this Department are, but not limited to: Records, Legal Documents, Staff Records, Training, Section 355 Committees, Secretarial Services and Child Day Care Facility. Home and Community Care (HACC) Services - with a senior HACC Service Co ordinator based in Moulamein and a HACC services Co ordinator based at Wakool. Recently a Co ordinator has been appointed to be based at Tooleybuc. Libraries also come under Corporate Service's umbrella, with one located in Barham, Moulamein and Wakool. With a mobile library visiting Tooleybuc. Further details are available under the subheading Libraries. The Business Centre staffing is also the responsibility of Corporate Services. The Centre houses the WAW Credit Union Facilities, RTA Motor Registry, Local Solicitor (1 day per week), Small Business Advisor (1 day per week), Government Access Centre Facilities and at the end of the financial year an accountant (1 day per week) and is staffed by three (3) part time employees.
