Building/Construction - Published: 14 May 2009

The objective of this Department is to provide an effective, competitive building approval process within the Shire, while maintaining standards and good design.

58 applications were received for consideration for the year ending the 30 June 2008 with a total value of building works being $3,101,244.35. This compares with 73 applications for the pervious year with a value of works at $7,354,465.38.

Long Service Levy Guidelines - Published: 26 Nov 2008

What is the Purpose of the Levy?

The NSW Government has put a levy on all building and construction work in NSW. The levy is paid into a fund, administered by the Long Service Payments Corporation and from this fund, the corporation makes long service payments to building and construction workers.

These guidelines have been produced in a combined effort from NSW Rural Fire Services and NSW Health. When fire occurs in your home, your chances of survival are twice as good when smoke alarms are present. Smoke alarms, when properly installed and maintained (following the manufacturers instructions), provide early warning when fire occurs. Early warning increases your chances for survival. more ..
