Where Wakool Shire is up to With Rural Addressing - Published: 17 Oct 2008

Council has resolved to introduce Rural Addressing in 2008/09 and made provision in its Management Plan of $45000 for the installation of numbers.  As part of a joint initiative with Department of Lands and Council, the first steps of data collection for Rural Addressing Project, commenced in August.

Pedestrian Access & Preferred Routes - Published: 17 Oct 2008

Council has a Pedestrian Access & Preferred Routes Guidelines for Barham, currently, in development.

The Aim of this is to define and justify a framework of pedestrian routes within the town of Barham as a basis for servicing and encouraging walking.

Local Emergency Risk Management Plan - Published: 17 Oct 2008

The Local Emergency Management Committee of Wakool is working to create a prepared community and therefore safer community in conjunction with Community, Emergency Services and other identified stakeholders to create a holistic Community Risk Based Emergency Management Plan which addresses Natural, Technological and Biological risks that may affect this Community.

Risk Management Systems & Programs - Published: 02 May 2006
Council has a Risk Management System that comprises the Risk Management Program and the OH&S Program, demonstrating a commitment and a focus on strategies to identify, evaluate and control risks to the Council and the community.
